After surgery.

A first assessment after an operation looks at where you are now and what your surgeon has asked of you.

What a first assessment looks at

  • What the operation was, when it was, and the instructions you were sent home with
  • How the area moves today, and how much strength is there
  • Swelling, walking, stairs, getting up from a chair: the everyday jobs
  • What you do at work, at home and for sport, and what you want back
  • A home exercise plan you can do between visits

We work with your surgeon’s instructions, not around them. Bring any paperwork from the hospital. Nothing here is a timeline: how you move on depends on you and on what was done.
